How to play
- The suit of the card under the deck is trump and beats any other suit.
- The attacker lays a card; the defender must beat it with a higher card of the same suit or any trump.
- More cards may be added to the attack, but only of ranks already on the table.
- A defender who cannot or will not beat them takes everything on the table.
- Both players refill to six cards; whoever is left holding cards at the end loses.
Tips
- Spend low cards early: at the end of the game only trumps matter.
- Do not beat an attack with a high trump if a small card of the same suit will do.
- Count the trumps that have gone — after the deck runs out that count decides the game.
- Taking cards on purpose is sometimes right: it is better than giving away two trumps.
